Rawabi is the first Palestinian city to be built in accordance with a Masterplan. The Masterplan provides direction for the way the new city will grow and flourish and how future land use decisions will contribute to the achievement of social, economic, and environmental goals. As the first new city; planning and designing of Rawabi takes its cues from international contemporary practices. The development of Rawabi provides the opportunity to learn from best practice, transfer knowledge and expertise to Palestine, and build a city which will become a model for future development in Palestine.

International experts and Palestinian planners, architects and engineers from Bayti Real Estate Investment Company have developed specific architectural designs that address the requirements of the future homeowner, engineers from Bayti Real Estate Investment Company worked closely with teams of experts from Birzeit and An-Najah National universities. The Rawabi Masterplan integrates exemplary planning and design principles, sustainable environmental practices and appropriate architectural features.

To realize the vision of the biggest private sector project in Palestine today, a public - private partnership agreement was signed in 2008 between Bayti - the developer - and the Palestinian Authority.

The Rawabi City Center forms the heart of the new city; as a mixed-use center it includes retail, business, cultural, civic, and residential uses, as well as a cinema and other entertainment features, and a hotel.
